What’s the Deal with the One Happy Workation?
Aruba’s One Happy Workation program lets remote workers live and work here for up to 90 days. That’s three glorious months of waking up to sunshine, working to the sound of the waves, and relaxing under a starry Caribbean sky. Plus, since Aruba isn’t just about beaches (although they are incredible), you’ll get the chance to experience our friendly culture, delicious food, and vibrant lifestyle.
This program is open to U.S. and Dutch nationals (sorry, everyone else), and the best part is, there’s no need for a work visa. All you need is proof that you’re employed back home or running your own business, so leave those office politics behind and bring your laptop instead.
How Do You Apply?
It’s pretty straightforward, but there are a few things to keep in mind:
1. Fill Out the ED Card
The Embarkation and Disembarkation (ED) card is required for all visitors, but make sure you select One Happy Workation, as your purpose of stay.
2. Gather Your Documents
You’ll need a valid passport, two passport-sized photos, your return flight ticket, proof of accommodation (like a hotel booking or Airbnb), health insurance, and evidence of funds). If you’ve been to a yellow fever risk area recently, bring that vaccination certificate too!
3. Pay the Tourist Fee
There’s a $20 entry fee for air travelers, but here’s the cool part, it covers you for the entire year. Come and go as you please.
