During a press conference this morning, the Department of Public Affairs wishes to inform the Aruban public in general and especially drivers and pedestrians about construction that will be taking place in the area of Palm Beach.
This renovation is to improve the system of rainwater drainage and to also put in a new layer of asphalt.
This will take place in the following phases:
Phase 1: Improve the drainage in front of CITGO Palm Beach and also put in new asphalt from CITGO Palm Beach until the Botica Santa Anna.
Phase 1 will be divided in three different sections
- Section one: Digging to allocate tubs, concrete work and connecting the drainage from Palm Aruba Condos. This area will be closed to traffic 24/7 for 30 days of construction.
- Section two: Remove the current asphalt from CITGO to Botica Santa Anna. This road will be partially closed for all traffic from 11:00 P.M to 7:00 A.M for 4 days of work, during the day the road will be open for traffic.
- Section three: Put new asphalt for the road from CITGO to Botica Santa Anna. The road will be completely closed to all traffic from 9:00 P.M to 12:00 P.M the next day for 1 day of construction, the road will be open again by 12:00 P.M
Phase 2: Amplify the water capacity and structure the wall of the culvert at the roundabout of Tanki Flip and Palm Beach.
Phase 3: Amplify the capacity of water at the culvert in Keito.
Phase 4: Put new asphalt and improve the flow of water at the dirt road near Palm Beach 94B.
Phase 1 will start this coming Monday, March 27th, 2023 and will have a duration of 35 days of construction (Monday to Friday). As the work from phase 1 starts to complete, the Department of Public Affairs will announce the start date of the following phases.
Because of these renovations the Department of Public Affairs asks that all drivers and pedestrians to please be mindful of the construction that will be taking place in this area. The DPA asks for everyone’s cooperation during this and also apologizes in advance for any inconvenience .

I understand this needs to happen and will be a huge improvement, but this should start after the high travel months. Next week is super busy for travel. This is going to be a disaster.
