Egmond Molina, a dedicated and driven man from Aruba, has become a hometown hero by setting multiple Guinness World Records. Through a combination of physical endurance, strength, and a deep dedication to honoring his loved ones, Molina has captured the admiration of people both on his island and around the world.
Molina’s journey into record-breaking began with a series of jaw-dropping accomplishments that test the limits of human strength. On March 12, 2024, in San Nicolaas, Aruba, he set the record for the heaviest deadlift with one finger, lifting an astonishing 138.50 kg (305.34 lbs). This incredible feat was only one of many in a growing list of achievements by the Aruban athlete.
Egmond’s feats don’t end there. On August 7, 2023, he completed the fastest 20-meter bus pull with one finger, finishing in an impressive 33.32 seconds. This event, held in Oranjestad, Aruba, held special significance for him. Egmond said, “I wanted to show my island and my loved ones that all dreams can come true with hard training and dedication.” He dedicated the record to his grandmother, a source of inspiration for many of his attempts. Though he held this title for nearly a year, it was eventually surpassed by Ukrainian athlete Dmytro Hrunski in May 2024.
Egmond’s records also include two incredible feats in mouth-strength endurance. On September 3, 2022, he set the record for the heaviest weight supported with the mouth on parallel bars while maintaining a horizontal body position, supporting 90.30 kg (199.07 lbs). This demonstration of sheer strength was achieved in Oranjestad, Aruba, where Egmond dedicated his performance to his beloved grandmother.
In the same year, Egmond raised the bar once again with the heaviest weight supported with the mouth on parallel bars, also lifting 90.3 kg (199.1 lbs) on September 3, 2022, in San Nicolaas. He saw this accomplishment as a tribute to his grandmother, who had encouraged him through each step of his journey.
Among his other records, Egmond achieved the most crown cap bottles opened with both hands in 30 seconds, opening six bottles on August 30, 2024, in San Nicolaas. Known as a skilled Muay Thai instructor, he wanted to show just how far the human body can be pushed to the limits in unique and varied ways.
