After the animal is treated and healthy, they’ll need a short-term foster or boarding solution until they can travel.
Adoption & Travel Tips:
- Pets can travel to the U.S.
- Cats, kittens, and small dogs (under 20 lbs with carrier) can usually fly in-cabin.
- Only American Airlines allows dogs as checked baggage from Aruba.
- Southwest does not allow pets on flights from Aruba.
- Each airline has specific rules about carriers and fees—check their websites.
- Heat restrictions may affect pet travel during warmer months and are determined by the airline on the day of departure.
