Exploring Aruba’s Bus System: to San Nicolas Murals from the High-Rise Area

Aruba offers travelers an opportunity to explore beyond the typical tourist spots. One such hidden gem is the charming town of San Nicolas, renowned for its stunning murals. To embark on this artistic adventure, Aruba’s bus system provides a convenient and eco-friendly mode of transportation. In this article, we will delve into Aruba’s bus system and guide you on the best way to reach San Nicolas from the high-rise area.

Aruba’s bus system is a reliable and efficient way to navigate the island. Managed by Arubus, the island’s public transportation company, it offers an extensive network that covers major tourist areas, towns, and residential neighborhoods. Most of the buses are modern, air-conditioned, and equipped with comfortable seating, making your journey pleasant and enjoyable.

Purchasing a smart card, known as the “Arubus card,” is the most convenient option for using the bus system. The card can be loaded with credit and allows for seamless transfers between buses. You can purchase the card at the Arubus office, located in Oranjestad, or at various authorized resellers across the island.
Single-trip fares are about 2.60$/4.50 AWG, return fares are about 5$/8.75 AWG, and a day pass would be 10$/17.50 AWG. The bus fares can be paid to the chauffeur upon boarding.
