BAN LANTA Y PLANTA” TO SAVE ARUBA’S NATURE

BAN LANTA Y PLANTA” TO SAVE ARUBA’S NATURE

Ban lanta y planta” or ‘let’s rise up and plant’ is a cause that has been launched to save Aruba’s nature by planting as many local plants as possible. Minister Ursell Arends is a grand supporter of this cause. Last Saturday the inauguration of the BITE Forest finally took place at The Bucuti Tara – GMC Park, during which 30 plants were planted in an attempt to protect Aruba’s local flora, is an initiative of Bucuti’s and Tara Resorts’ Ewald Biemans.

This project has the support of many who are actively interested in improving the future for future generations by protecting nature. This foundation has a lot of members who are passionate and motivated to restore and care for our island.

The park is a donation from Ewald Biemans, which has approximately 12 hectares of protected terrain. The conserved ecosystem is typically Aruban and houses roughly 280 species of birds, including the “warawara”, “shoco”, and “prikichi”. Roughly 30 local plant species were planted and now we just have to wait for them to grow and flourish to continue supporting the ecosystem in the area.

A huge thank you goes out to the three planters for their contribution to the creation of BITE Forest. We would also like to thank all “Ban Lanta y Planta” employees and volunteers for all of their help and support.

Planting plants is one of the best ways to combat climate change. You can also help by doing your part in making Aruba greener. You can contact “Ban Lanta y Planta” via their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/BanLantayPlanta/
