Aruba’s telecommunications provider, SETAR, has announced that all phone calls from Aruba to Venezuela will be free from June 27 through July 1, 2026, in a gesture of solidarity following the devastating earthquake that struck Venezuela.
The initiative applies to calls made to both landline and mobile phone numbers in Venezuela. According to SETAR, the temporary measure is intended to give customers the opportunity to stay in contact with their family members, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.
With many Arubans having close personal, cultural, and family ties to Venezuela, the announcement has been welcomed as a meaningful way to help people reconnect and check on the safety and wellbeing of those affected by the disaster.
In its announcement, SETAR stated that the free calling period reflects the company’s support for the Venezuelan people and its commitment to helping customers remain connected when communication matters most.
The free calls are available until July 1, 2026, after which normal international calling rates to Venezuela will resume.
