This Thursday, February 12, the streets of San Nicolas will glow once again as Aruba’s beloved Lighting Parade takes over the Sunrise City from 8:00 PMuntil approximately 2:00 AM.
Part of the official Aruba Carnival season, the San Nicolas Lighting Parade may be smaller than the famous Oranjestad parade, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in atmosphere. Here, the celebration feels closer, more local, and incredibly lively, with illuminated costumes, energetic dance groups, live music trucks, and thousands of spectators lining the streets.
If you enjoyed the Oranjestad Lighting Parade or missed it entirely, this is your chance to experience the magic again. Many locals even prefer the San Nicolas edition for its community feel and easier viewing spots.
Parade Route
The parade begins at Joe Laveist Sport Park and travels through Pastoor Hendrikstraat, Caya Dick Cooper, Caya Captain H. Rodger, Lagoweg, Bernhardstraat, and Dr. Schaepmanstraat before ending back at Joe Laveist Sport Park.
Expect glowing costumes, pulsing soca rhythms, late night food stands, and the unmistakable energy that makes Carnival in Aruba so special.
