On March 19, 2025, Aruba conducted a successful test of its new Early Warning System (EWS), marking a significant step in strengthening the island’s emergency preparedness. The test took place between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM at eight key locations, ensuring that the system is fully functional and capable of providing timely alerts in case of emergencies.
A Smooth and Effective Test
The system test was conducted at the following locations:
• Lighthouse
• Rooi Santo
• Palm Beach
• Sasaki
• APA (Port Area)
• Rumbastraat
• Brazil
• Weg Fontein
During the test, warning signals were successfully activated at each site, allowing the Crisis Management Office (CMO) Aruba to assess the system’s effectiveness. The test marked the official handover of the project from CentrAlert to CMO, ensuring that Aruba now has a fully operational alert system in place.
