On April 22, in recognition of Earth Day, Mike Eman shared an important message highlighting a major step forward for environmental protection in Aruba, the development of a new marine park.
In his video, Eman focused on the Cadasushi area, explaining how ecosystems on land and in the ocean are closely connected. He described how water from the land flows into mangroves and eventually reaches the sea, supporting marine life such as coral reefs, conch, and fish. This connection shows that protecting one environment directly supports the other.
The plan is to designate the area as a marine park, giving it the protection needed for ecosystems to grow and recover naturally. Mangroves, coastal waters, and marine habitats will benefit from this protection, helping preserve biodiversity and maintain ecological balance.
The Marine Conservation Foundation will play an important role in supporting this initiative, focusing on conservation, education, and long term sustainability.
This effort highlights Aruba’s commitment to protecting its natural environment while raising awareness about the importance of preserving interconnected ecosystems for future generations.
