The Aruba Police Force, the Department of Aviation, and the Government of Aruba announce that, in connection with the visit of His Majesty King Willem-Alexander to Aruba, there will be a strict prohibition on the use of drones and remote-controlled aircraft within the territory of Aruba.
This restriction will be in effect from Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 8:00 PM until Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 8:00 PM.
The prohibition applies to airspace up to a maximum altitude of 6,500 feet above Aruba’s territory and extends up to 500 meters offshore from the island’s coastline.
In addition, all local flights of any type of aircraft, including small planes and helicopters, will be prohibited during the same period.
Only international commercial flights will be permitted to land and depart from Queen Beatrix International Airport. Aircraft operated by local authorities are exempt from this restriction.
These measures are necessary for national security reasons. The public is kindly requested to take note of and comply with this temporary prohibition.
