The Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) is proud to announce its support for the eighth edition of ArtWeek Aruba, which will take place from September 1 to 7, 2025, in the streets of San Nicolas. This year’s theme is “Art for Justice,” a call for unity, reflection, and transformation through art. ArtWeek is a unique platform that showcases the creative richness and cultural diversity of our island, while aiming to inspire dialogue on justice and equality.
The cultural week begins with “Art Table: Brushstrokes for Justice”, a painting experience under the stars. More than 100 art lovers will be guided by artists to create a collective canvas focused on justice, equality, and empathy. On September 3, “Art Fashion: Justice on the Runway” will transform fashion into activism. Aruban and international designers will present collections that challenge social norms and use fashion as a form of visual protest. To close the week, the Aruba Art Fair, a three-day festival from September 5 to 7, will bring together more than 100 artists. Visitors will explore works across four immersive galleries, murals, performances, and international culinary offerings. They will also discover installations, live demonstrations, and artworks that denounce inequality while amplifying the voices of underrepresented communities.
For A.T.A., this is not just a festival but an example of how culture can be a platform for education and empowerment. In collaboration with local schools such as Filomena College MAVO, students participated in various art workshops. They created works that will be showcased at the Aruba Art Fair. This gives students the opportunity to express their creative voices. For many of them, it will be the first time their work is presented to a broad audience, an experience that may inspire them to pursue a future in art or creative tourism.
